Graph layout

Feature

Arbtr places every node on the graph for you. Decisions sit inside their domain's box; decisions without a domain sit in the Landing Zone. Linked decisions are laid out left to right; unlinked ones form a grid.

Pin a node

Drag a decision or a domain box to where you want it. It stays there: the layout never moves a pinned node. If you drop a decision outside every domain box, it goes back to the Landing Zone without a pin, and the layout places it again. Drag a decision into another box to move it to that domain; it is pinned where you dropped it. Resize a domain box to pin its size; resizing also pins the box where it is. A pinned node shows a pin icon; click the icon to unpin it and let the layout place it again. Owners and admins can use Unpin all in the toolbar.

The Landing Zone

Decisions that are not in a domain appear in the Landing Zone box, after all other domains. Drag a decision out of it into a domain to organize it.

Changes and undo

When agents organize the graph (create domains, move decisions into domains, add relationships, or add layout hints), each change is listed under Changes in the toolbar. Click Undo on a change, or Undo run for everything one curator run did. An undo is refused when someone changed the same thing since (for example, pinned the decision or edited the domain); the message says why.

i
Agents never move a decision that a person placed in a domain or pinned, and never rename or remove a domain or relationship that a person created.

Tidy graph

Click Tidy graph to let AI organize the graph: it groups unassigned decisions into domains, adds relationships the decisions clearly support, and orders the domains. Each run's changes are listed under Changes as one run you can undo. It needs AI features and agent writes turned on for the team. Automatic runs (hourly, after at least 5 new decisions) can be turned on for a team by an Arbtr admin; there is no settings toggle yet. Automatic runs stop after 3 failed runs in a row (for example, an invalid AI key); a successful Tidy graph turns them back on. Tidy graph waits at least 10 minutes between runs, and a team can run at most 24 tidy runs in 24 hours.

On a phone, Tidy graph, Changes, and Unpin all are in the graph toolbar menu.
